9/4/20—Kinzua Beach Campfire

It had been awhile since I randomly sprung a last second adventure on my parents, until a Friday night at 6:30 when my mom got home from work, and I told both of them that we’re taking Mya (our dog that goes nuts in the car) to Kinzua Beach. When I surprise them with these ideas, they’re always like “you’re crazy” at first. And then the next thing you know, we’re on our way there with Mya barking the whole ride.

The sun was setting quickly and by the time we got there, I was worried that I wasn’t going to be able to get any good photos. However, I just bought a new camera and wow, can that thing preform in low light! As we walked down to the water, my dad said, “Oh look, someone must have been having a fire.” Farther down the beach, there was a huge fire pit that someone had built out of rocks still smoking like it had just been left. I ran over with Mya to check it out, hoping we could get it re-lit. We all gathered some sticks and successfully got it going again.

The photos from this night are so much more to me than just some “cool photos”. They hold meaning. They tell a story. And I will forever hold them close to my heart.
